Bumming Around July 31st, 2009

Dean decided to stay home on a Saturday. Though most of his friends have invited him to go out, he declined and opted to just bum around at home.

For breakfast, he ate cold leftover pizza with black coffee and orange juice. Dean immediately went to the living room to watch television after breakfast. He was constantly flipping through the channels to find a suitable program. One channel features the life of Abraham Lincoln, another channel shows viewers several shoe storage ideas and another one on how a mole digs its tunnels.

Come lunch time, Dean was still in front of the TV. He was watching a rerun of the famous TV series Friends. The show stars Jennifer Aniston, Courtney Cox and Matthew Perry among others. By three in the afternoon, Dean was feeling a bit hungry. He went to the kitchen and made himself some pasta and salad. Dean had a great and tasteful lunch.

Dean was reading Pride and Prejudice when his cellphone started to ring. It was his mother. She just called up to ask how he was. They talked a bit before hanging up. Dean really missed his mother. He even promised to visit her next weekend. Dean can’t wait to see his mother.

Must-see Videos July 28th, 2009

It is a great thing that my mom is so into the internet. She is as tech-savvy as any teenager could be. Unlike my dad who only goes online when really needed, my mom is online every night emailing and chatting with me, my siblings and our other relatives.

Mom loves to make videos and then sends them to me. The latest she sent was a how to make ice cream video. She made the video since I asked her to teach me. There were other ones too including a video of my dad cleaning the garage and other useless but funny stuff.

My mother also requested that I send her some videos. I sent her a walkthrough video of my new apartment as well as of my new cats. I also sent her a video of me driving home to work. I even showed her my new office.

Last night, I chatted with my mom and she showed me a video clip of when I was little. I was six and skateboarding outside our garage. It was a sweet video. I miss my family and my parents even more. I haven’t seen them for almost six years. I should really make time to visit them soon.

The Phone Call July 25th, 2009

It was twelve midnight when my phone rang. I said “Hello?” for a couple of time before the caller hung up. It was a good thing that I wasn’t asleep yet or I would have been really annoyed.

A few days after my telephone rang at two in the morning. I picked up the receiver and before I could say anything, the caller hung up. I was to sleepy to even bother who it was. I just went back to sleep.

I was busy packing some old useless stuff from my closet to give away including old sweaters, t-shirts, jeans, boots, and sneakers. There were books I would be donating too. There was even a book on cake decorating tips. Wait, I better hold on to that one.

After a few hours and everything was packed, the phone rang. I looked at the clock, it was still seven in the evening. I said “hello?” and the caller replied with a shy “Hi, Lorie.” I could not believe it. Was it really Claire?

Claire was a friend in high school. She stopped talking to me when she thought that I also had a crush on her then crush, David. Well, it wasn’t true but she never believed me.

Jake’s Hobby July 22nd, 2009

Jake loves taking pictures. Ever since he got his first camera when he was 12 years old, he has been snapping away at various animals, landscapes and just about anything that tickles his fancy.

In his apartment, one could see some of his works framed on the walls. This includes those taken in his many travels in various countries such as Thailand, Vietnam, India, Netherlands, Africa and the Middle East. Another set of framed pictures features Jake’s many adventures. Like the time he went mountain climbing, bungee jumping and kayaking. There were also a bunch of photos taken during one of his many white water rafting trips.

Jake carries his Nikon camera everywhere he goes, he sometimes take it to bed with him. It has seen a lot of wear but it still takes pretty intense photos. The colors are so vivid that the pictures look so real. Jake has been thinking about buying another camera though, just to have an alternate with his old one.

Although he really wants a new one badly, Jake is still in the process of building his own home studio, a dark room where he can process his own photos. It is a hassle for him to constantly go and have his photos developed.
